Francisco Javier Calvo has years of experience working for personal injury litigation firms that specialize in products liability, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability cases. Mr. Calvo joined David J. Halberg, P.A. in 2006.

Attorney Calvo’s experience working for insurance companies has given him the ability to know how insurance companies and their attorneys will evaluate his clients’ personal injury cases. Mr. Calvo’s background in civil litigation matters—ranging from products liability to medical malpractice in federal and state courts—is extensive and diverse.

Prior to earning his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. in Criminal Justice at Florida International University. Mr. Calvo served in the United States Army First Airborne Ranger Battalion for four years. At 19 years of age, Mr. Calvo became one of the youngest soldiers to get promoted to the rank of sergeant. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1989. Mr. Calvo is also a graduate of South Miami Senior High.

After earning his law degree, Attorney Calvo was admitted to practice before all Florida State Courts, including the Southern District of Florida and the United States District Court.

Attorney Calvo has successfully handled many personal injury cases from their beginning stages through trial. He also has helped clients achieve favorable settlements through case resolutions in civil mediations.

The Florida Bar appointed Francisco Javier Calvo to the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee in 2005. Last year, Mr. Calvo was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Florida Legal Services, Inc. He also belongs to the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban Bar Association, and the Coral Gables Bar Association.
